How To Get Leads That Buy

What’s the one thing that’s more frustrating than not being able to generate leads for your business? Generating leads for your business that aren’t buying! You spent a lot of time and money generating those leads and it’s super frustrating when you can’t turn that investment into profit!

The thing is, not every lead is going to become a customer, it’s just not possible, but a lot of your leads just aren’t ready to buy today. It’s the long game that matters in marketing more often than not. If your leads aren’t converting into paying customers, you need to continue to build relationships with them until they’re ready to trust you!

Email Marketing

That’s where email marketing comes in! It’s like the holy grail of getting your leads to become customers after their initial contact! You’ve got to give a little to get a trusting relationship out of your leads. Think about what you like to see in your email inbox. Do you LOVE getting bombarded with sales ads over and over again, prompting you to buy? 20% off this! BOGO for that! It’s super freaking hectic and super tiring sifting through this bull. I want to introduce you to a different kind of marketing. Empathy -driven marketing.

Empathy-driven marketing is all about building up a trusting relationship with your customer. It’s about providing value before money has even switched hands! Who are the people that you buy from when you receive email from a list? It’s the people that you start to like! The people that you feel like they’re a friend, even if you know the end goal is for you to buy from them! I know this isn’t the easy way, but it is the right way to market via email!

First thing’s first, you’re going to have to find a way to collect email addresses. The answer is to create a lead magnet. A lead magnet is an offer that you give to your customer in exchange for their email address. This could be a guide, cheat-sheet, or coupon code. This is the first step in building trust with your customer. You’ve got to respect the information they’ve given you.

Speaking of respecting their information. I cannot express how important it is to give your audience more than a barrage at offers. If you treat your email subscribers like a pool of money waiting for you to throw offers at them, you’re gonna have a bad time. These are people that want good information in an entertaining form! I’m not saying you can’t give them the option to buy, but you have to be more than an endless stream of ads.

Following up

Follow up is another huge part of getting your leads to convert into customers! Especially for local business, it’s hard to sell something off of a lead magnet or sales page and actually get the client to come into your store. You need to hold their hand throughout the process! You almost have to treat your audience like a toddler. Tell them exactly what they need to do to get started! Whether it’s scheduling on your website or driving to your business, give them exact instructions!

On top of that, you need to follow up with your leads like CRAZY! If they haven’t told you no, you need to keep reaching out to them. Text, call, and email, you NEED to be doing all of these in order to get your leads to become customers!

I know it can feel like you’re annoying the hell out of your leads and you’re worried about driving them away. But they signed up for this so you could help them with their problems! It’s your duty to make sure that you help them and do everything in your power to follow up if you want them to be your customer!

A lot of leads get cold feet if you wait too long. You need to follow up consistently, sometimes multiple times a day to push your leads to become customers. It’s okay if they tell you to stop messaging them or ignore you, it’s so much better than missing out on a customer who you can help!
